Why You Should Learn To Dance If You Already Don't Know How

I never danced much when I was younger. I mean occassionally I did... around the house, when no one was watching; for some strange reason I never considered to persure it through practice and training. As a perfectionist, I think I shyed away from the idea in fear that I possibly wouldn't excel among the rest of the dancers.
However as I matured, I grew a stronger appreciation for dance and the silly fears that were once holding me back had vanished. Although by this time when my confidence was in place, I'm 20 years old. When realizing somthing like this, many people may think "Well, I'm too old to start now", and the thought of someone having that mindset makes me want to cringe. It's basically like saying "I'm gonna stop feeding my body good, healthy things because I'm too old" How can you just decide one day to stop embracing life and no longer take care of your body?
When one day a student of mine showed me ballet, there was something so graceful and sufficiently absract about it, which was completely different from my usual intensifying, straight-edge gymnastics knowledge. I decided to sign up for an adult class near me. It was the best decsion I ever made. When I arrived, to my biggest surprise, I was in a class of dancers that aged between 30-65. I always believe it is important to surround yourself around people older and wiser than you, for the simple fact that they will probably teach you something that you did not already know.
Standing out in the middle of the floor it felt like the whole light was on me. Centering myself with the soft rhythm made me feel so peaceful and elegant it didn't matter if hit every note. But once I did... once I actually started hitting every note on key, there was finally an accomplished and self conquered feeling within it. It was a time where I can go somewhere and just focus on me.
