Best Stay-On Makeup For Summer

Don't worry about fighting the humidty this summer. Follow these simple makeup tips and your face will be smudge-free and sweat-proof all summer long.

1) LESS IS MORE

Keep your foundation layers thin for a soft touched, natural look. When makeup (especially oily, liquid foundation) is layred on too much, it will clog pores, unallowing oxygen through and will cause your face to sweat more easily. Use light-coated foundations to prevent your skin from looking cakey or oily. Always make sure your summertime makeup has SPF to protect your skin from the sun.

Urban DecayNaked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup: $29

Best for thin, weightless coating.

Mac Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation: $35

Best for soft layering, matte finish and sun protection

Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder: $37

Best for finishing over makeup, with warm undertone tint.

2) POWER OF RICE POWDER

Avoid all color foundation powders this summer. Similar to translusant powder, rice powder absorbs all oil off the skin and doesn't have any unblendable tints. It can be used on natural skin or over a liquid foundation to create a flatter, softer, and much more natural look. This stuff is great to keep on-the-go to make minor retouches throughout the day.

Palladia Oil Absorbing Rice Powder: $4

Best for oil absorbing, clear, flat finish.

3) SUNKISSED LOOK

EYES: Waterproof mascara is a must. Stay clear from dark eyeshadows and eyeliners. Too much eye makeup will take away the naturalness from your face and will smudge quickly if exposed in too much heat. Stick with lighters colors such as light pink or beige, or just dont wear any at all!

LIPS: Use light red and pink shades to keep lips looking natural yet sophisticated. Always carry around chapstick for constent moisturizing.

SKIN: A little bit of bronzer is the best way to give your cheeks a little summer glow. Find greyer tints of bronzer to avoid an "orangey" look.

BLUSH: Stay away from powdered blush to avoid too many layers Try a compact or liquid dye for a more realistic look.
